Storefront Improvement Program
The Agency provides 50/50 funding on storefront upgrades of up to $15,000 in the redevelopment area. Each commercial property in the redevelopment area is eligible for up to $7,500 in funding, upon approval by the Agency Board. Funding is provided as a loan, with the owner signing a (promissory note) but the loan is interest free and the debt is forgiven after two years of operation of a business at the location. Eligible improvements include storefront reconstruction and exterior building resurfacing or improvement. Building permits, landscaping, and commercial signs may also be included if they are part of a storefront upgrade. Downtown Building Permit Program
To encourage revitalization and commercial development, The Redevelopment Agency will pay for the building permit and the cost of plan check for new construction, expansion and remodeling of businesses, shops, offices, apartments in the designated downtown area. Redevelopment Area Infill Program
The Redevelopment Agency will pay for the building permits and the cost of plan check for new construction, whether commercial or residential, on vacant lots adjacent to City-maintained and paved streets in the Redevelopment Project Area. Business Incentives Program
If you have specific commercial, professional, or industrial business needs that are not addressed above please contact the Administration Department, the City Manager wants to meet you and assist your business with a smooth entry into Twentynine Palms. We are in contact with a number of county, state and federal Agencies that provide loan programs and tax credits to job creating businesses. We can analyze your business plan and determine if there is a partnership opportunity for the city/redevelopment agency that we may be able to leverage.
Chamber of Commerce
The Chamber of Commerce has a wide variety of membership services available to new businesses and can meet you to discuss your needs and advise you as to loans, business plans, realtors, and community interests.
