Hosting a Mixer

Hosting and Making the Most of a Chamber Mixer

Hosting a mixer is a great opportunity to showcase your business at very little cost in an informal open house atmosphere, while allowing members to network and discover what your business has to offer.  This past year average mixer attendance has been 30 to 50 people.  Mixers are usually held on the 4TH Thursday of the month from 5:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. 

 

Call the Chamber for any additional information on member mixer requirements and responsibilities not listed below.

 

As a host, you will coordinate to your best interest the following duties:

Coordinate theme and location;
Send invitations;
Notify Chamber if liquor license is needed;
Provide catering services for 30-50 attendees;
Send Invitations;
Arrange entertainment/décor-if appropriate;
Obtain drawing prizes:
Provide table and two chairs located at the entrance;
Organize clean-up:
 

The Chamber will be pleased to assist you with the following tasks:

Designing your invitation;
Coordinate distribution of invitations, i.e. mailing list and bulk mail assistance;
Coordinate general publicity, i.e. mixer via web-page, media releases,broadcasting and Chamber Newsletter;
Coordinate with host to develop  program;
Provide name tags;
Gathering of drawing prizes.

 

Sample Mixer Itinerary:

4:30p.m. Chamber representatives will set up and help host as requested;

5:00p.m. Members arrive and network informally;

6:00p.m. Twentynine Palms Chamber of Commerce President;

             Welcome Members, Guests, and Non-Members;

             Introduce Officials in attendance;

             Introduce Mixer Host;

6:05p.m. Mixer Host Comments;

6:10p.m. Chamber President announces new members;

6:15p.m. Chamber President announces upcoming events;

6:20p.m. Chamber President commences with drawing for prizes;

6:30p.m. Informal networking continues to end.

 

As a host, you may want to have co-sponsors.  If so, we suggest you contact other Chamber members to cater your event, provide rentals, (i.e. chairs, tables, and other decorations.)
