Street Fair and Car Show 2009

The annual Twentynine Palms Street Fair & Car Show was held Friday, June 5, 2009, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The event featured 50 car entries and more than 29 vendors. Live radio broadcast was provided by Z107.7 FM. Local band Deep 6 donated their time to play several sets for the crowd.

 

The 2009 Street Fair & Car Show was sponsored by the Twentynine Palms Chamber of Commerce, the City of Twentynine Palms, Z107.7 FM, Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, Bar-Sto Precision Machine, NAPA Auto Parts, Pacific Marine Credit Union, Marr Realty & Rentals, Deep 6 Productions, Holiday Inn Express, and Time Warner Cable.

 

The People’s Choice Awards went to:

Street Bike

The event also featured an “under construction” category, won by Jeff Dunn with a 1964 VW Bug; a “Mayor’s Choice” award, won by Bob Tenbrook with a 1941 GMC COE; and a “General’s Choice” award, won by Mark Hartl with a 1950 Chevy Coupe.

 

A big thank you goes out to all of our entrants, vendors, sponsors and volunteers. The volunteers for the event included Jim Woolsey, Joel and Sam McCrory, Debbie Gerlt, Curves for Women, Andy Patel, Govinda Arehalli, Rob Fleck, Tom Davis, and Scott Schultz. Clean-up was provided by the Twentynine Palms Fire Department Explorers.

 

The Chamber wishes to extend a special thanks to the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center for use of its stage, and to George Collard for setting up electricity for the concert.
